Pyrrhic Victory

I.

Wrench and rusted nail
Consummate through pipeline trails.
Unholy clouds ebb and rise in tides of skies’ progression
Birds navigate gray mirrors of the ocean lines reflected
& on the shore like some giant writhing black blanket:
Singed seals stick
& asphalt glaciers lick their lips
& oil drum islands vomit
Near six-pack schools of swimming fish;
Dirty laundry in Proteus’ attic

II.

Ashamed, Prometheus takes a Kerosene bath
Then prays to play the Indian giver
Real natives cry neon tears

III.

So much (dinosaur) blood spilled
So much for Peppermint geography, like bubbling soda puddles on hot concrete
So many veins in Alaskan arms
