Conscious Visualization (May/June 2004)

The secrets of telepathy are manifest in the power of conscious visualization. The ability to envision and form a thought into a mental image is something we all posses, although often times it is weakened over time. We are taught to label this integral process as useless, even frivolous. How many times are we told to "get our heads out of the clouds" or "stop day dreaming and get back to work," and yet in the act of discarding this capacity, we are putting aside the best weapon against injustice that we as human beings can ever hope to harness. Well, millions of attempted monotony lobotomies later, I am still tapping into the power of imagination, and with astounding results.

In my dreams, I visualize a world where the aristocratic bureaucracy pyramids that dictate our lives, driving us further into dilapidation, are turned inside out. No longer do some rich men sitting in a board room thousands of miles away, far removed from the consequences of their dictums, hold sway over communities they've never attended, realigning regions they've never explored. Each geographic location will decide what is best for their own destiny, as society is retribalized, all manipulating triangles replaced by cyclical circles.

I visualize a world, where fiscal inflation, and the invisible values ascribed to dirty pieces of paper are replaced by a barter system. Real free trade will proliferate, as our school systems and universities are substituted by apprenticeships for all who desire them. Children's craving to learn will no longer be squashed by instigating curriculums and malformed aptitude tests, but utilized to create an education program where all can feel free to learn at their own pace. Talk show hosts, celebrities, and global pop sensations, are replaced by a plethora of new local talents emerging in villages everywhere.

I visualize a world, where we think six generations ahead, refusing to sacrifice diversity, and sustainability in the name of instantaneous luxury. Where we take pride in our differences, and ditch our war drums, racism and bigotry, in favor of the principles of nonviolence, acceptance, and peace. The individualism of capitalism can meld with the togetherness of communism to recreate the organizational structure that existed before the advent of civilization. One that nourishes us, as rich soil and sunlight nourishes the blooming of springtime plants.

Just relax, breath slowly, and share this vision with me. That's right, close your eyes and erase away your fears, let go, and fly off into the coalescing cotton clouds. Know that we are all interconnected, and it only takes one thought, one idea, to spread through our collective consciousness like wildfire, until it burns so bright with benevolence, that all parasitism will part, all malevolence will melt, leaving only what we've had all along. Each other.
